TERMSDonation terms
1. How funds are used
Donations and sponsorship are used for ground works on abandoned farmland (felling, stump removal, levelling, soil improvement), buying and planting vines, buying and installing vineyard materials, investment in the cellar equipment the harvest requires, programmes combining farming with disability employment, communicating the work, and research into sustainable farming. Funds are applied to the project as a whole; the specific allocation is decided by the association as the work progresses. They are held and managed separately from Terroir Ownership Project fees.
2. Refunds
Donations and sponsorship received cannot generally be refunded. Should the project have to be discontinued, the treatment will be decided in discussion with supporters. For payment errors — a duplicate charge, or the wrong amount entered — please get in touch through the contact form.
3. The thank-you wine
Wine sent as a thank-you is not consideration for a donation or sponsorship. Timing, contents or quantity may change with weather, how the vines develop, yield, the winemaking, and alcohol licensing. It cannot be sent to anyone under the age of 20.
4. Listing supporters
Names, company names and logos are listed only where consent has been given in advance. A request to be removed is acted on at any time.
5. Tax treatment
The association is a general incorporated association without public-interest certification. Donations from individuals do not qualify for Japan's income tax donation deduction. Donations from companies are subject to the deductible limit for donations. Actual accounting treatment depends on the supporter's circumstances, so please confirm the position with your own tax adviser or accountant.
6. Receipts
For major sponsorship the process runs: agreement, invoice, payment, receipt. For other receipts, please ask through the contact form.
7. Changes
Changes to these terms take effect when published on this page.
This text is a draft. Before publishing, have a professional confirm whether the donations fall within Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions — which turns on the thank-you gifts and on whether charges recur — and how the Terroir Ownership Project should be characterised in law. Once settled, put the final text in microCMS under pages (slug: terms) and it will replace this draft.
